Savannah- Feb 25th Part 1

We met up with Jane in Columbia... had lunch at our old standby Panera's and then it was drive time again. The four and half hour drive to Savannah is long... that's for sure but we were relieved when we finally came to the welcome center where we could stretch our legs.

After a quick breeze in the French Knot...

Where I founds some felted beads to make a necklace... It was time to mozzy onto our 'port of call' ... The Gastonian... Weary as we were, we walked up the back steps and check in... and headed up 2 flights of twenty steps the third floor... and the Mary Telfair room we'd be staying in... All I can say is burn... calories melting away=)

Once we got our luggage up (one went flying down a flight due to a seriously faulty handle... we chilled for a sec before heading downstairs for the afternoon repast that happens everyday from 4-6pm... Savory scones seem to be The Gastonian's specialty and the garlic pepper scones did not disappoint.

Time to go to Paula Dean's Lady and Sons to try and secure a reservation... which can't be gotten till the day of... only to find out we can't get in till 9:15...

So with time to burn we drove around River Street (very seedy/touristy on the side that faces the river), finally got a spot in a parking deck and got some pics of the Bohemian hotel....

We took the elevator down to River Street... and walked to the Savannah Bee company.... The shop was absolutely amazing... and I got a little jar of orange blossom honey... If the pictures below inspire you... I suggest you go onto their site and get something for yourself...
