Savannah - Feb. 26th Part 2

After a failed attempt to go to the French Market (it's not open till 11a on Mondays) we decided to walk a few shops down to the The Spice and Tea Exchange... and we were not disappointed. From the very second you step through the door you feel like you've entered another world. The smell was heavenly... and the choices were limitless...

This is the view from just inside the door. Awesome right?
There are rows and rows of these jars...
There are rows and rows of apothecary jars filled with spices, teas rubs salt, pepper sugars, flowers for sachets and all sort of wonderful things...

So how do you choose you ask? Well after a lot of thought I selected two of the flavored sugars Raspberry and Tangerine (I nearly got the lemon instead... but given my recent enjoyment of orange flavored things... I went with the tangerine) The other options (at least those that I can remember... were Lemon, Lime, Strawberry, Cocoa, Coconut... All of them sound delicious don't you think?

My final purchase from the shop was loose Darjeeling Tea... which even though I've been back home for three days now... I still haven't tried... but I already know it's going to be delicious... b/c it's one of my favorite teas besides English Breakfast and Constant Comment.

I contemplated some Basil and a glass jar to put my favorite herb in... but decided against it in the end... as the time for our lunch reservations was fast approaching.

So we call Jane (she was circling with the car due and extreme lack of available parking spaces!!!) and headed for our lunch destination... Vics on the River.

We were lucky to get there just in time to secure a
seat next to a window overlooking the river...

Left: There's my sister looking lovely as always... I wish I could be so photogenic... but alas when I see a camera pointed at my face I'm like a deer in headlights...

So moving on... After careful consideration about just what I wanted to get for lunch... I settled on the Crobb salad...

I know... I know.... you're thinking it should be Cobb Salad right? Well in the case it is Crobb... b/c this salad as crab on it! And not just crab... there is bacon, cucumber, tomato, pineapple and goat cheese.

Check it out...

Crobb Salad

Are you attempting to reach your hand through your computer screen right now to get a tasty bite of this salad?

Yes?

Well then my photographic work is done=)

The salad was delicious.. although as you can see it's much to large for anyone person... so I did the best I could with it... and packed up the rest...

The Paris Market

From the moment you step into the Paris Market you feel like you have been transported to another place... another time...

It's filled with everything you would hope a Parisian shop to be filled with and more... Beautiful jewelry, scented candles, and soaps... shells of every shape in apothecary jars...

Chocolate... books on travel, architecture and culinary desserts.

The large shell display...
You want them.. you know you do.
I regret not being able to purchase any of the lovely shells and a few of the other things in the store... but alas the time for our carriage ride was fast approaching....
