8:15pm... after circling around for a parking deck in a city whose streets I can't begin to understand...and ending up at the same parking deck we left just an hour before... we finally made up to the reservation desk at Lady and Sons to check on the wait... only to get the same answer... we are still booked for 9:15... so what are we do to during an freezing cold night in Savannah but go into Paula Deans Store...
After making a purchase at the shop (no I didn't end up buy the napkins above... but FYI they have the phrase in mugs, shirts, hats etc) We went into the waiting area.... when who should walk around the corner (no not Paula) but a waitress saying they had an opening up on the third floor... and we could come with her...
Another elevator trip and we were upstairs and seated in a room already brimming with patrons... Each level has it's own buffet, dining area, bar, elevator and restrooms...
My mom and sister (brave souls they were... and not afraid of a little dairy... decided on the chicken pot pie... While I being tired and not quite as hungry (I'd ran into Jimmy Johns around 5:30p and got a sandwich) I got a few pieces of fried chicken (pulled off the fried bit to reveal the most delicious tasting chicken ever) and some Jasmine Rice. Yummo!
But no one could expect how massive the chicken pot pie that would come out next... You have to see it to believe it...
We ended up leaving around 9:10, leaving before our original reservations... Awesome right? We walked down the street to our parking garage (the streets of Savannah are extremely sketch at night... if not in the daytime as well...
So we headed back to the Gastonian and up to the room after snagging a few yummies from the 8-10 dessert/wine in the dining area...
